Looking for nice campgrounds in or around Williamsburg VA for Christmas time. Between Christmas and the new year. Is this area worth seeing at this time of year? Thanx. Paul

Paul

Williamsburg would be good to visit around Christmas. ...Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown historical site, and Yorktown Battlefield are all close by. There are several campgrounds in the immediate area. We have stayed in several there, and would recommend you check out
-- American Heritage RV Park, 146 Maxton Ln, , 757-566-2133 or 888-530-2267, Good Sam/AARP/WIT, 95 FHUs (shaded or open), I-64 exit at 231A (Norge), 2nd left (at Mennonite Church) on Maxton Ln, 1/4 mi to park entrance on left.
-- OR --
-- Fair Oaks Campground (at Williamsburg Pottery), 300+ sites, some W&E, some FHU, olympic-size pool, mini golf, LP, store, Good Sam, FMCA, WIT, 757-565-2101, 800-892-0320, 901 Lightfoot Rd, I-64 exit 234

If you have a military ID card (active duty, retired, reserve, etc), another good one would be Cheatham Annex, King's Creek Campground, 7 mi E of Williamsburg on Colonial Pkwy or Hwy 199, 19 FHUs, 50a, catv (need long cable), by golf course near York River, 757-887-7418, close to Water Country, Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown

Hi,
I am currently sitting in my RVat the American Heritage RV Park...The staff are great - so friendly and helpful. People on site are not as friendly as on some of the smaller sites but lots of amenities and quite resonably priced.

jamestown was great and Williamsburg is interesting.

Enjoy

we are just get an older RV, and we go to williamsburg VA a couple times a year. We really like Busch-gardens, very clean park. plus the historic area is very neat. can't wait to do the camping deal down there as we have always stayed in hotels.
