I own a 1994 Sea Breeze 133. The problem I am having is when I try to run the roof A/Cs on generator power, they blow the breakers. The generator is a generac NP52G. The front A/C is on a 30amp breaker and the rear one is on a 20 amp breaker. I have checked the voltage at several recepticals with no load and with load and the voltage never goes below 119.0 volts. Generator RPM is good (2300 RPM) and drive belt is not slipping. The roof A/Cs are Duo-Therm 590 series quick cool. The compressor rated load amps are 12.9 and the compressor locked rotor amps (start up amps) is 71.0 momentary. I think the problem may be weak breakers, I have checked the wiring and generator output and can find no other problems. P.S. both A/Cs work fine using home current. Are their special slow blow breakers that need to be installed?

You might not be able to run both ac's at once with the 52G. I think it only puts out about 40amps and (2) roof airs with other things running probably will overload 30 amp breakers. Try running just (1) and see what that does. Usually the coach won't let you run but (1) unless the generator is large enough to run both but it might not have gotten wired correctly at the factory...I've seen worse wire jobs from the factory that this though.

Also... if they are the same size then why did the factory install a 20a for one and a 30a for the other?

Another thing...if they don't trip the breakers on shore power then they shoudn't trip on gen. power...power is routed thru the same breakers whether on shore power or generator power...hope this helps...

Thanks for the feed back. The system is set up so I can only run one A/C unit at a time with generator power. The front unit is on the 30amp and the rear is on the 20amp. Either one will pop its circuit when activated using generator. As for shore power, the line is wired up stream of the generator and does not back feed to the breakers. The generator is independant of the shore supply.

Your Sea Breeze should be wired to a power management device to shut things off so that you can run your air units. I have found that if I put my refrigerator on Gas, I have no problem running the air units off of the generator. (96 Dolphin 36') I had a Toyota Sea Breeze that ran fine off of the generator. Check for parasitic loads sucking up your amps.
