Hello. My husband and I are just starting to research (before we purchase) Class A Diesel Motorhomes. Length will be between 38-40, 3-4 slides, but other than that we haven't narrowed down any other particulars. Any help from veteran motorhome users would be greatly appreciated. In our research we'd like to hear from owners who recommend options like chassies, size of diesel (we'd like to pull a 23' boat), layouts, water systems, airconditioning units, tires, maintenance isssues and any anyother items. We's also like to hear from those individuals who have had problems with specific models/options so we can add this to our evaluation.
Thank you in advance.

Well........There's also a whole bunch of other questions you need to consider.
What's your budget?
New or used?
Max age limit if used?
How much will you use it?
You going to tow a vehicle?
Of course, the main question - How deep are your pockets!
I'm no expert here. Although we have been RVing since about '86, we have only owned our DP since January.
Someone asked me a couple of weeks ago, whether I liked the 5er we had better then the coach. After thinking about it for a bit, I told him "I wish I had done it years ago."
We found that we more attracted to Monaco/Holiday Rambler then the other brands we looked at.
Did about a years worth of research first and walked through about a hundred coaches (new and used).
We found that the Holiday Rambler Ambassador SKT fit us very well. I especially like the way it handles on the road.
I also prefer the TV in the mid wall as opposed to above the windshield.
Bathroom space is important, so make sure that both of you sit on the toilet. Make sure there is enough room for that business. Believe it or not, if there is not enough room there - you're gonna hate the coach later.
The Monaco version of ours is the Knight.
We opted for the 40 foot diesel pusher. Due to size, make darn sure you can either find proper storage if you have to store it away from home, or that you have sufficient space to keep it at home. Hopefully you won't have any Home Owners Associations that will give you trouble.
It is a fun experience looking. Make sure you take a note pad and a digital camera, because after you have seen 3 or 4 units, you won't be able to remember what the first one had. Take plenty of pics so you can browse through them.
Good Luck!!!
