Hello,We purchased an extended warranty from Good Sam's for a used RV. Our hydralic pump broke and we were denied the claim.REASON- It was a used RV and the problem had to be pre-existing!!
We are now looking into Warranty Experts extended service policy. Does anyone know anything about this company? OR can anyone recommend a good extended warranty policy on a used RV?
Thanks

How did Good Sams determine that it 'had' to be prexisting? Don't hydraulic pumps fail after the extended warranty is purchased?
I generally don't purchase extended warranties, but I have made a couple of exceptions. The first is with laptop computers because of their fragility and rough treatment. The other exception was when I bought a 2001 Itasca. I had an older motorhome and spent nearly as much for repairs as I had when I bought it. I figured since I was making payments anyway, I might as well get some reliability.
I have already gotten most of the cost of the warranty with the first set of repairs, but I had to keep after the dealer and warranty company to make sure everything was covered.
My warranty comes from Star RV. You may want to look at them.

After we purchased the extrended warranty from Good Sam our power steering pump failed after driving less than 40 miles therefor Good Sam said it had to have been going bad before we purchased the warranty so it was pre existing and would not be covered even though our machanic told them it was not pre existing. Thank you for the info. We'll call them.

As per Ralph Nader, "Extended warranties are a waste of your money".

I have used Passport America for several years. I am a fulltime RV'er and if you follow their rules and regulations, it works just fine. I have only been disappointed this Passport once. I will renew again when my membership expires.

I think Ralph Nader is correct when it comes to home electronics, appliances and etc. However, we full time in a fifth wheel and purchased a five year extended warranty and service plan with our rig (bought it new) - through the dealer. It has been a life saver. In the first 3 years It has saved us thousands of dollars! I would not have an RV without one.

You aree right, they bought used and I bought new. I have had re-occurring problems, fixed by different dealers in different states, all covered. Don't know if that means anything ...
Sorry for the confusion.

We just purchased a warranty with RVProtection.net. They were great to work with. You can also go to better busness bureau and check out the company. I did and Warranty Experts were not among the favorites.
