We are interested in a cardolly. Anyone use one? We know you cannot back up with the car on it? After the car is off - can it be backed up using a truck - not attached to the motorhome. Our house and garages at home are up hill. Do some of them fold up, I thought I read that.
We could use the help of the experienced RVers.

Mine does not fold up, but I have backed it up (less car),with my pickup, but it's a little hard to do, as you can't see it good & it's wider than the truck.
I usually pull mine around with the ATV.

As the previous poster said, the only problem with backing up an unloaded dolly is being able to see it. The very short length of it also makes it difficult to 'aim' it where you want it to go.

I have a demco Space saver tow dolley and you can back it up a short distance in a straight line. I like it because you can tow abuot any thing you want on it[no base plate needed]. It has surge brakes,a toung jack and it folds up into a shorter package[good for campgroung with little space].

The current issue of " RV lifestyle " magazine ( Vol 36 No 5 ) has an interesting article about towing cars. It's a Canadian magazine, so I'm not sure if it's avaliable in the USA.
The website is
http://www.rvlifemag.com
I couldn't find this particular article on the site yet ( probably because the issue is still on the shelves ), but it's under "RV Tips"
Good luck
