Onan Generator

My generator runs for about 15 minutes then shuts off, stops running for no reason. Nothing is running off the generator. It will restart again and run another 15 minutes then shut down. Changed the oil, filter, air filter and fuel filter. Same results. Does anyone now what would cause this problem?::D

How much fuel do you have in your tank. Most motorhomes are set up so the generator will shut down with between and eight and one quarter of a tank of fuel. This is done so you will never run out of fuel to drive the coach.

I had a problem with the board in my Onan and it cuase dthe generator tot run rough after about 20 minutes of working under a load-new board took care of it!!

My guess is that if is not the fuel then you need ot have ot tested by an authorized Onan dealer.

You also state that there is nothing running. You should never run your generator without a load on it!! Your manual will tell you this.

I need at least a 1/4 tank for it to run, also check your oil level, won't start if low.

It also won't run if it does not have 12 volts going to it. You might check your run switch to see if its heating up, could be an intermitant short....yeeoooowwww
