Check out the Casa Grande area. Pretty good weather and lots of parks to match just about any wallet. Mesa is also RV oriented, as is Sun City west of Phoenix. We will be doing the same thing next summer, trying to find a place in TX or AZ. Good luck

Don't know exactly where you're looking at or for, but the Pecacho Peak Resort is 40 miles west of Tucson and seems pretty nice. We've overnighted there a couple times. It sits at the base of Pecacho (Pacacho??) Peak and is a really beautiful place. You'd have to go into Tucson or Marana for groceries. The Beaudry RV Resort is on the east side of Tucson. Has all the amenities. Not like camping, but a nice home base.

Check out Valley of the Sun, Marana AZ on Sandario Rd. They take Passport America and are reasonable. Have wi-fi, pool, rec room, pull thru or back-in, back ins a little more room. Nothing fancy but central location.

suggest u look at the Yuma BLM areas -- boondocking is real c h e a p.. and
pretty good places near Yuma + Mexico for dental and eye glasses .. also Mexico for rehab ur camper if you need body work -- give it a try -- Yuma has all the stuff u need (big box stores) + weather is perfect -- Northern AZ gets cold + that partly cloudy that shows up in the winter -- enjoy

Phoenix area is loaded with campgrounds for snowbirds. Apache Junction is probably most affordable, but the level of camping you require has alot to do with prices. Aside from basic amenities, do you want things like wi-fi, lots of activities and programs in the campground? They may cost a little more if this is what you want. If you want to simply camp and then range out for your sightseeing and entertainment, they can be had for as little as $275 per month. Also, Benson, AZ is east of Tucson, right off the I-10 and they have a neat little community of snowbirds spread over perhaps seven different campgrounds in town. They all seem to attend each other's events such as potlucks, jam sessions, etc. Very friendly crowd, and probably cheaper to stay there than in Tucson or Phoenix IMHO. We stayed at the Benson I-10 campground for a couple of nights in February and really enjoyed the sense of community that we found there. Good luck. Have fun......

The SKP's Park in Benson is a very friendly place and makes you feel right it home.

My second suggestion is Palm Creek RV Resort in Casa Grande. It has just about anything on-site that you could ask for. It is a combination of RV's and Park Models.

If you like cheap camping, try the BLM areas around Yuma. Oh, you also have to like boondocking.

We have for the last 2 seasons stayed at Saddle Mountain RV Park, in Tonopah, AZ. It is 35 miles west of Goodyear on I-10 and only 53 miles from downtown. There is a brand new Walmart SC @ exit 117 which is only 23 miles away. It's quite and will be $255/month and $.012/KWH for electric. Make reservations early, it's popular!
