Well, I don't know about the asylum, or the person who penned the comment, possibly they're connected in some way and they have insight that we are unaware of.
I do know that its done every day and successfully too.:)
You can check on Craigs List for what ever area your in, or try it city by city and see what you find, I see them there almost every week..
Next, you can check on Good Sam web site and look in the RV for sale section and select DP for sale and you'll find a few there that offer owner financing and other alternative methods with or without top line credit.
With a bit of research and a lot of patience, you'll find a way and someone to assist you.
In some cases, you'll find posting replies are done just to see thier names in print.. and other times you'll actually get a reply that might be of help.
Good Luck on your search.. and Happy Travels.

Ignorance is bliss and billcolleen must be very blissful.
GE, the largest retail financing company has announced withdrawal from retail RV finance. Sales are down over 30% in '08. There are some sellers who will hold paper. They likely will be higher than book value and that's why they are stuck holding owner finance. They owe more than they can sell for. There are plenty of "upside down" owners. Be patient and check all the classified ads.
