Anybody heard of the internercamping.com where they claim to save you 50%on pretty much any campgrouind in the US and Canada, including state parks?

There are many 50% campground clubs. Passport America I think was the first one. Most of the campgrounds only allow 1 night at the discounted price, some give you a few days. It is a good deal when you are traveling and not around a membership park (if you have memberships). We have PA and use it several times a year. Most of the time, after 2 uses, we have saved the money that paid the yearly dues. Just need to make sure the park you want to go to still accepts what ever 50% discount you are a member of. Parks go in and out all the time...some will not give you the discount if you do not state you are a member when you make the reservation.

And some of the same parks will tell you on arrival that you can't get the discount unless you call ahead. Had this happen to us at Beaumont TX last spring. We called ahead and were told must be walk in to get the discount. We stayed anyway at regular rate when we arrived, when told nothing at special rate was open. When we were in the office later the same girl told a walk-in they must call ahead to get discount. The park had about 15 sites open overnight.
Haven't been back since.
