Hello I just joined today!
We are from Colorado and have camped for several years if anyone can call it that with the new 5th wheels now days. :)
We have our house for sale and when it sells we will be full timers.
Just traded our 5th wheel in on a new Carri lite 5th wheel by Carriage and really love it.
We want to go south in winter and north in summer and discover new places in this beautiful country of ours.
Travel with two spoiled Schnauzers :p and a big stuck up Maine Coon cat. :) Cat travels well. Rides on the consol of the truck with his blanket. Of course he has a doggie seat belt harness on, as do the dogs in back seat. He is too big for a cat harness.
Me and my husband are both retired.

Congrats on being able to retire and travel. I like animals but not to travel with them. (If I was going on the road like you, then I would probably do the same with them.) My wife and I have only been able to travel away from home for a month in the summer. (We are slaves to public schools in Florida.)
Make sure you read as much as you can about full time rving. Bill and Jan Moeller have written some of the best books available on the subject. (***Try not to take everything you own with you. This will cost you more in gasoline costs, space, weight, & frustration) The Moellers also talk extensively about living on the road for many years at a time. Just do a search at Google.com or Yahoo.com and find some of their resources.
You can also post quite a few pictures at picasaweb (for free) of your adventures. I have posted mine there: (1 gig is free.)http://picasaweb.google.com/northfloridatraveler
Good luck,

We have a storage unit rented and will rent another larger one when we go full time. We have many friends that full time.
Have traveled extensive for several weeks at a time, and will be in southern Missouri for two months next year. Attending two rallies in Branson area with 3 weeks between rallies to visit friends and relatives.
Have made 6 trips this year alone.:D
We are aware we can not take everything with us and travel quite light since we have a heavy 5th wheel. About the only thing that is really heavy is our washer and dryer. And this unit has a dishwasher too. Plus other extras that came with it. We have traveled with the new unit and have not had a problem. About the only thing we will add when we go full time is my sewing machine, crock pot and another computer. Keep the 5er ready at all times. Have clothing in there all the time. We could leave in an hours notice. :p
This is our 4th 5th wheel. We started with a 24 foot Dutchman, then a 28foot Wildcat, then a 35' 11" Montana, now we have a 36 foot 11 inches Carri lite. :D
