Did research and asked the question reference Tri-Care and the health care reform. Tri-Care is funded through the Defense Department funding and so will (should) have nothing to do with this health care reform. Know there is a huge problem with the number of doctors who take it and some of the bases are not the best at taking care of retirees. As is normal they only care about us on Veteran's Day. I am very thankful for the retirement checks that allow us to live somewhat comfortably and have an income

When me and my wife turned 65 the base hospital kicked us to the curb. We had been patients there for 25 years. I can still get my meds at the base it is just a long drive....

We went off base after they took no concern for tests for my epilepsy medicine. Love the doctor who I see every time. I get medication on base

Some good news for Retired Reserves that are not yet 60 years old. You can now get Tricare Standard as long as you pay for it. It should be a great deal for someone like me that is retiring at 50 years old and will not get Tricare for Life for ten more years until I turn 60 years old. Not sure of the cost yet, but it should be much cheaper than Cobra Health Insurance and a much better family policy over high-deductible policies that many RVers are forced to purchase.
