Geo, I have used Tom Tom in the past! Most if not all of them allow lat and long inputs for finding your destinations. The only thing I disliked about my Tom Tom unit was when it was time to update it from the Tom Tom website! It crashed on me and I was always getting a re furbished one in replacement of the bad one! Each and everyone they sent to replace my bad one crashed also too! I will never get another Tom Tom gps again! Thats my imput on the subject! Hope you find a good one! If I am to get another gps again I would probably get a Garwin gps! A co-worker of mine has one and he likes it alot!

I also have a TomTom. They want you to pay$40 ayear to get updated maps. One new map every quarter. Even with that thier maps are not up to date. I use mine for work all over the country and many times it can't find the address or says it doesn't exist. I update the sattelite positions every week or whenver IU move to a new area. I won't buy another TomTom. My brother also has a Garmiun. He really likes it. That will be the next type I get.

Long time Garmin user, I love it. You can get a lifetime upgrade on the internet for one time fee of $89.99. I update every quarter and have not had any problems. Won't gp anywhere without it.

Been a while since anyone replied, but here's my 2013 input. Been using Garmin for several years... very happy. On another forum, can't recall where unfortunately, I read that someone was able to download trip plans from Microsoft S&T into their GPS. I do the same with RV Trip Wizard into my Garmin.
Lots of models these days.
