Good to see some activity for the Army.
I did '61 to '64, straight out of High School. In Kansas City,MO
Took basic at Fort Hood 2nd Armored, Left there for Germany, ended up at Karlsruhe for home site. A company, 1st Signal, 7th Army.
Should have stayed in for the full trip.
Currently in Washington, waiting for release by doctor to hit the street, fulltiming.

I was in Germany from 73 -76 in the 3rd Herd. Ayers Kaserne in Kirch Goens.
Spent a lot of time on the border in the Fulda Gap. Then went to Ft Hood.
2nd AD tank Platoon Sergeant.

In 1977 we went to Ftort Irwin California for desert training. 14 years before the Gulf War broke out.

Thanks for the Military Post. I entered the Army in 1968 and did a tour in Vietnam with 101st. Did three years active and then got in Army Reserve. Was activated in 1991 for Desert Storm and served stateside as a Major in a Tank Battalion. Activated again in 2001, (Go Figure) served stateside as the G3 of a training Division, promoted to Colonel in 2002. Trained over 2500 MPs and sent them to the desert. Retired in 2006, Finally, and enjoyed almost every moment of my service. Bought a Motorhome in 2007 and on my second one now, wife and I playing with the grandkids(Four Boys). Also enjoying Military campgrounds especially in Florida.

I just joined and I am excited about this website. I served from 71 to 93. Then I have been a government contractor with three different companies serving mostly USCENTCOM and USSOCOM at MacDill AFB, FL. I have two tours in Germany and one in Korea. The rest of my time was spent in Ft Bliss, Fort Lee, and MacDill AFB. I will be retiring (again) on 31 Jan 13 and jumping into our RV to start seeing in person all of those sites I have seen in the History books. We have taken our Class C out on a bunch of short trips in the local area, but any advice on a longer trip would be greatly appreciated.
